We negotiated a settlement with the employer for several hundred thousand zlotys

Our client was the HR Director of an IT company — a manager with global experience who had been recruited to introduce changes to HR processes in a Polish entity. The company had developed rapidly and gone public, but its employment processes were underdeveloped.

Our client took the risk of leaving a global corporation for a Polish company, even relocating to a different country to take up the role, encouraged by the Management Board’s enthusiasm for change.

The first months were highly positive. However, our client soon encountered resistance from employees and certain directors who began opposing the changes and attributing everything that was going wrong in the company to the new person. Our client received no support from the Management Board — quite the contrary: the CEO began addressing her in an abusive manner, raising his voice at her during meetings, frequently in the presence of other members of senior management.

Our client fell ill and went on sick leave. She contacted us to take action and help her exit the company, expecting that the employer would provide appropriate financial compensation for the harm she had suffered.

What we did?

We prepared a formal letter demanding payment of a specified sum from the employer, citing violations of personal rights and mobbing conduct. The central argument was that our client had made significant personal sacrifices to change her career, yet the employer had proved unwilling to embrace change and had transferred the full burden of responsibility onto her. We set out our financial expectations comprehensively and managed the entire process of our client’s departure from the company.

We negotiated a settlement amounting to over 12 months’ salary, ensuring the proper resolution of all benefits and outstanding financial matters.

As a result, as our client completed her medical treatment, the matter with the company was fully closed, allowing her to focus entirely on finding a new position.
